Teens Gathered in Christ (TGC)

Teens Encounter Christ Youth Group (TGC), St. Francis Xavier, Burlington, is open to all 7 – 12th grade students of the parish. We meet most every Sunday evening from 6 – 7pm during the school year from September to May in the parish hall or church basement. During the summer, June – August, we meet for certain events, service projects and fellowship outings.

Our mission is to provide an outlet for all youth to grow closer to Christ as they join others in fellowship and fun while participating in faith filled events and service projects. We hope to encourage and inspire meaningful relationships with each other and Christ by offering varied opportunities to become leaders and stewards of the faith, both now and in the future.

Our group motto:

Be who God created you to be and you will set the world on fire! - St. Catherine of Siena

Our group reflection Adapted from St. Teresa of Avila (1515- 1582) -

Christ has no body now on earth but Ours,
No hands but Ours,
No feet but Ours,
Ours are the eyes through which Christ’s compassion is to look out to the earth,
Ours are the feet by which He is to go about doing good, and
Ours are the hands by which He is to bless us now.

Events we encourage: Summer camp, Steubenville Conference, Teens Encounter Christ Retreat, National Catholic Youth Conference, Rural Catholic Youth Conference, Jr. High Youth Rally, Praise and Worship events, and more
